Chicago Tribune published an opinion column by Clarence Page that asks “Is The Tea Party Over?” Mr. Page asks “Has the Tea Party peaked? Republican lawmakers affiliated with the upstart anti-tax movement scored big in the nerve racking debt ceiling debacle, but the victory left enough hard feelings to feed the movement’s ultimate defeat.”
That is drive-by media wishful thinking!
The assault on the Tea Party has reached maximum speed, which tells me that the Liberals, the Socialists, the Progressives, RINOS and the drive-by media are scared of one of the most powerful conservative grassroots movements to hit America in a long time. Go Figure!
Instead of accepting the fact that our economy is weak, our outlook bleak and millions of Americans are out of work, Obama and his cronies refused reforms to entitlement programs and refused to make significant cuts in federal spending without significant tax increases. The deal Boehner came up with did little to cut spending but it did increased borrowing. That was the straw that broke our AAA rating – not the Tea Party.
The Tea Party’s focus has been on our fiscal health and without the Tea Party, Congress would still be spending, taxing and borrowing with little regard for the burden it is placing on future generations. The people at fault for the downgrade and the deficit are the RINOS, Socialists, Liberals, and Progressive who have been in power far too long.
The antagonist are out in full force spewing their vile contempt.
Senator John Kerry calls the S&P downgrade a “Tea Party downgrade”. “This is the Tea Party downgrade because a minority of people in the House of Representatives countered even the will of many Republicans in the United States Senate who were prepared to do a bigger deal” Translation – RINOs in the Senate were more than willing to raise our taxes. Remember that in 2012. Kerry says the Media has a responsibility to not give equal time to the Tea Party. “It doesn’t deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea. . .America is losing any sense of what’s real, of who’s accountable. . .” On what planet is the media covering or giving credit to the Tea Party?
Senator Harry Reid says that the election of Tea Party members was unfair to the American people because cutting spending is just not right. Harry also says that “Anytime around here with the Tea Party philosophy, you know, they seem to think they have all knowing wisdom about the Constitution. So, in short, that’s a bunch of garbage. I don’t know how to say it any more clearly than that.” The Democrats know about the Constitution, they spend considerable time plotting to go around it, and usually ignore it when it comes to shoving their agenda down our throats.
According to Nancy Pelosi “This is about destroying the public space. Everything from clean air and water to national parks and food safety and regulation will be compromised if the Tea Party gets the draconian cuts it wants.” In Nancy’s mind the Tea Party isn’t about shrinking government, its about destroying government.
John McCain says that “The Democrats have no choice but to pass a balanced budget amendment and reform entitlements and the Tea Party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor.”
David Axelrod spouted “Look at the history of this the fact of the matter is that this is essentially a Tea Party downgrade. The Tea Party brought us to the brink of default.”
Big Al Gore wants an Arab Spring in this country but not the Tea Party kind. “There are people who are genuinely upset in the Tea Party. I understand that but the movement was funded with seed money from right-wing billionaires, the Koch Brothers, and promoted on Fox News and turned into a stalking horse for the right-wing agenda that a lot of people have been trying to push on this country for a long time.” Right, AL, it’s completely different from the Socialist agenda paid for and pushed by far left billionaires like George Soros!
Catherine Poe, a contributor of the Washington Times Community says that “Not satisfied with nearly tanking the economy worldwide and devaluing your assets, the Right Wing is on the war path once again. You will hear the Tea Party on the rampage again, spouting Freedom Works’ talking points. They call it a public information campaign. I call it a public fibbing campaign. Basically the Republicans and the Tea Party want to turn Medicare into one big voucher program. . .”
“There’s a nihilist caucus which is, “Listen, we want to burn the place down”. I mean, they’re not, they’ve strapped explosives to the Capital and they think they are immume from it. The Tea Party caucus wants this crisis, and do we want to do this again six months from now?” Margaret Carison, Bloomberg columnist on Inside Washington, July 29.
“You know, the problem with this is it’s like a form of economic terrorism. I image these Tea Party guys are, like, strapped with dynamite, standing in the middle of Times Square at rush hour and saying, ‘Either you do it my way, or we’re going to blow you up, ourselves up, and the whole country up with us.’ “ Steven Rattner, MSNCB economic analyst, July 29
“You know what they say: Never negotiate with terrorists. It only encourages them. These last few months, much of the country has watched in horror as the Tea Party Repubicans have waged jihad on the American people. . .For now, the Tea Party Repubicans can put aside their suicide vests. But rest assured: They’ll have them on again soon enough.” Joe Nocera, NY Times columnist, August 2
“Tea Party budget-slashers. . .were like cannibals, eating their own party and leaders alive. They were like vampires, draining the country’s reputation, credit rating and compassion. They were like zombies, relentlessly and mindlessly coming back again and again to assault their unnerved victims, Boehner and President Obama. They were like the metallic beasts in Alien flashing mouths of teeth inside other mouths of teeth, bursting out of Boehner’s stomach every time he came to a bouquet of microphones.” Maureen Dowd, NY Times columnist, August 3
“The question, I think, some people might be asking is, do you think that members of the Tea Party caucus know how to govern, or are they – do they understand that standing up for a cause is not the same as governing?” Ann Curry, NBC, August 1
“Let me finish tonight with this bad experience we’ve all just been through. What we saw, what I saw, at least, was one guy [Tea Party] with a knife and the other [Boehner] trying to avoid being out. It was a thug attacking a victim. It was a mugging. Now the good news – relief is a better word. I suppose – is that the victim did get through it. The bad news is that the mugger got what he wanted. He got the wallet. . .The mugging continues, again and again and again. The people who perpetrated this assault on the President will come back to do it again.” Chris Matthews, August 2
“From day one, from second one, the goal of the Republican Party of the right, of corporate America, of the Tea Party, the whole shebang, has been -eliminate this guy’s presidency. It’s been personal, it’s been about him, and it’s about hatred. . .We hate you, want to kill you politically.” Chris Matthews, August 3
My favorite, “does your elevator reach the top floor?” quote is from Howard Kurtz speaking to Chrystia Freeland
“The alternative analysis is that it’s the Republicans and particularly the Tea Party faction that has been intransigent, that has said no to trillions in spending cuts, and the Democrats and Obama have moved quite a way. . .Why has mainstream journalism not portrayed this as a crisis largely created by one party, and instead has developed this narrative that the two sides are just, you know, a bunch of clowns?” Freeland responds: “Because I think mainstream journalism is averse to making judgments. And I also think that mainstream journalists are particularly scared of being labeled as liberal.”
If it wasn’t for those darn Tea Partiers, we’d already be in Obamatopia with unicorn powered cars and an economy driven to new heights by unity, hope and importantly, the POWER OF LOVE. Why or why do those Tea Partiers want to ruin all that?
