John “Benedict” Boehner

Welp, it’s time for me to say I told you so.  Told us what, you say?  I’ve been telling people that John Boehner is a fraud and not to be trusted since his first year in Congress.  It’s because, as my late grandmother used to say, “You can’t trust a snake under a rock.”  The reason you can’t trust a snake under the rock is you can’t see it until it bites you, whereas, if it’s in the open you can kill it or avoid it.

Boehner’s parents did him a disservice naming him “John.”  They should have named him “Benedict” as in Arnold because he has betrayed the American public at every opportunity.  He has rolled over enough times for Obama that it’s probably fair to call them boyfriends.

His latest act of betrayal of the American people comes as he sells out and agrees to raise taxes on those earning $1 million and up per annum.  Boehner signed Grover Norquist’s “Americans for Trax Reform’s Taxpayer Protection Pledge” which was his pledge to not raise taxes.  He is an elapid lying in wait
to bite (read: betray the people) whenever it suits his agenda and Obama’s needs.

I know a $1 million in annual salary sounds like a lot of money to those earning less, but it’s not if you live in California, New Jersey, or New York.  That said, my argument is that no one should be arbitrarily singled out and punished for what they earn.  Especially since we know that raising taxes will do absolutely nothing to reduce debt.  It should also be remembered this is “Benedict” Boehner who does Obama’s bidding, which means we can count on him helping Obama get to his magical number of “Everyone earning $250,000 or more annually will be punished with a tax increase.”  Mark my works.

Boehner voted to pass TARP and had the chutzpah to claim Constitutional authority in doing it — saying that the enumerated powers granted him the authority to buy the debt of private businesses if it were necessary to steel the financial sectors.  The problem is that the only place that provision exists is Boehner’s mind.  He supposedly opposed Obamacare, swearing to “not pay one dime” of the salaries of the workers administering the plan.  But that was a bogus claim because there is a difference between not paying the salaries and completely defunding it.  But he knew the American people could be easily misled
by his doublespeak.

Boehner has an unparalleled record of bluff, bluster, sell-out, and then claim the lousy deal he accepted was the best he could get.  It has been his way from the beginning.  Nancy Pelosi is more of a man than Boehner is, she certainly has more steel in her back.

But, no one listens to me.  People say what a great guy he and how much he’s trying.  “Trying” in my book only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes.

But, in fairness, Boehner isn’t singularly responsible for his treachery.  The voters are responsible because: they voted him back in.
