In taking a look at the Boston Marathon bombers, one thing the media is attempting to gloss over is the connections between the brothers and radical Islamism. Latest stories also claim they acted alone and were not connected to any terrorist organization.
It turns out that Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the deceased older brother, who appears to have led the bombers, was in fact, a member of the Islamic Society of Boston (ISB) and it is highly unlikely that a sermon using Dr. King as a role model would ever be preached in this mosque.
The mosque is very much Muslim Brotherhood oriented, and claims the Muslim Brotherhood’s spiritual leader imam Yusef al-Qaradawi as it’s major influence and spiritual guide. In 2008 it was reported that the ISB follows the Muslim Brotherhood and Pakistani Islamist group Jamaat-e-Islami beliefs.
The ISB used Qaradiwi’s name in their fundraising and had al-Qaradawi as an honorary member of the board until 2001 when his name disappeared from their website. Qaradiwi favors a world-wide Islamist caliphate under sharia law, including the beating of ‘disobedient’ women, female genital mutilation, death for homosexuals and non-Muslims, and a second Holocaust against the Jews. “Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the [Jews] people who would punish them for their corruption. The last punishment was carried out by Hitler.,god willing, this time it will be the believers [Islam].”
One of ISB’s eight founding members was Abdurahman Alamoudi. Abduraham Alamoudi made numerous controversial statements before his arrest in 2002. In 1994 he declared that that “Hamas is not a terrorist group,” and in October 2000, he attended an anti-Israel protest outside the White House where he proudly declared himself a “supporter of Hamas” and a “supporter of Hezbollah.” In 1996, Alamoudi announced his support of Musa Abu Marzook who was deported in 1997 because of his Hamas-related activities.
In 1996 Alamoudi said that “I think if we were outside this country, we can say, ‘Oh allah, destroy America,’ but once we are here, our mission in this country is to change it. . .” In 2001 Alamoudi attended a Beirut conference with leaders of numerous terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah. He also attended a Northern Virginia conference where senior Islamic militants from throughout the Middle East were gathered.
His association apparently didn’t bother the White House since Bush invited him to the ‘faith-based initiative briefing and in September 2001, Bush invited Alamoudi to the National Cathedral in Washington to the 9/11 prayer service.
When he was arrested in October 2003, the FBI released a transcript of a phone conversation in which Alamoudi lamented that no Americans had died during al-Qaeda’s 1998 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Kenya and recommended more operations be conducted like the 1994 Hezbollah bombing of a Jewish cultural center in Buenos Aires. Alamoudi was indicted and convicted of fraud and of being a senior al-Qaeda financier to the tune of at least one million dollars. In 2004 he was sentenced to 23 years in federal prison.
Imam Sheikh Basyouny Nehela, who has served ISB for at least ten years, is a board member of the Boston chapter of the Muslim American Society. Federal prosecutors said in 2008 that “MAS was founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.” In January 2012, Alamoudi actually testified that “Everyone knows that MAS is the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Osama Kandil, who has served as chairman of the ISB board, is one of nine founders of the Muslim Arab Youth Association and a vice president. A 1991 US Muslim Brotherhood memo identifies the group as one of its fronts and in the Holy Land trial, it was listed among the unindicted co-conspirators.
Walid Fitaihi is another ISB trustee. He resigned after anti-Semitic writing that Jews “perpetrated the worst of evils and brought the worst corruption to the earth,” and that they are the “murderers of prophets” and “would be punished for their oppression, murder and rape of worshippers of allah” came to light. Fitaihi also claimed that the “Zionist lobby in America…has recruited many of the influential media.”
Jamal Badawi has also been a ISB trustee. Badawi is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial as one of its fundraisers. In 2010, he endorsed “combative jihad.” He has also justified suicide bombings and refers to Hamas terrorists as “martyrs.” His name is in a 1992 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood directory and is a founder of the Muslim American Society.
The Islamic Society of Boston was built on land owned by the City valued at $1.5 million at the time. The land was gifted to them in a murky process by Mayor Menino, who spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony. The deputy director of the Boston city agency that ‘negotiated’ the land giveaway not only was a member of the Boston Islamic Society, whom it paid to raise money in the Middle East, but also secretly advised the group about obtaining the land cheaply. Aside from being an illegal conflict of interest, this was a clear violation of the establishment clause of the First Amendment – using public funds to favor one religion over all others…at the expense of the City of Boston’s taxpayers.
As usual, the truth does not seem to matter to the left or the lap-dog media in their frantic push to whitewash radical Islam. Actually, by proclaiming it an act of terror committed by ‘religious’ individuals furthers their agenda to portray all religions as potential terrorists.
