Knowledge is power – Big Brother Is Still Alive!
Americans are waking up. Thanks in large part to the ongoing NSA surveillance scandal, sales of Orwell’s novel ‘l984’ rose 6,021% in a single day.
Today, the word “Orwellian” refers to any regimented and dehumanized society and words like “Newspeak,” “unperson,” “doublethink,” and “thoughtcrime” have become part of the English language, while that familiar phrase “Big Brother Is Watching You” has become synonymous with the concept of a totalitarian state – the same totalitarian state that progressives are attempting to build in America.
Orwell’s ‘1984’ novel is about a Big Brother police state where ‘wrong’ thoughts as well as deeds are punished, where political correctness is vogue, where what was right becomes wrong and what was wrong becomes the accepted norm. Through manipulation of the English language, redefining and deconstructing the meaning of words, by destroying art, literature and education, by the use of perpetual war and police state terror, Big Brother controlled the masses in ‘1984’. Starting to sound familiar?
The understory of 1984 is fast becoming part of the Democratic Platform:
- Human beings are not fit to govern themselves.
- No one has a right to privacy.
- The Party seeks power for power’s sake – the object of power is power.
- One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution – one makes the revolution in order to make a dictatorship.
- The object of persecution is persecution.
- God does not exist in a civilized society.
- The end justifies the means.
NDAA, the Patriot Act, executing Americans without trial, GPS tracking, and the constant infringement on our constitutional rights, the on-going NSA scandal, the militarization of local and state police; refusal to enforce existing law, redefining marriage, funding the murder of unborn babies, the takeover of our health care system, and the use of drones has brought us ever closer to living in a 1984 world.
Why is deceit, subterfuge, the use of slander, and the imposition of political correctness necessary? Because lies, obfuscation and deceit are necessary for the left to quash disssent, exert conformity of political opinon, and establish liberal orthodoxy.
