Obama Ups Ante On War Against Conservative Groups

kingThe Obama Administration has upped the ante on its war against Conservatives, Patriots, Liberterians, and Tea Party groups.

The IRS quietly released their new proposed regulations for “social welfare” groups to silence opposition during next year’s election.  Social Welfare groups fall under the IRS 501(c)(4) section of the tax code which ids this group as “primarily engaged in promoting in some way the common good and general welfare of the people of the community.” The new proposed change says that political campaign activity would not count toward  common good and general welfare.

According to Dan Backer, an Alexander lawyer, the rule change will discourage conservative advocacy groups from seeking or maintaining a 501(c)(4) tax status.  “The IRS is approaching this as ‘we are giving you the right to speak and you are going to speak within the confines we tell you.’ And that is wrong.  This whole effort is simply to empower government to regulate speech.”

And NO! for you liberals out there, we are not overreacting.  These rule changes do not affect unions or business pacs, the largest portion of which are Democrats so in essence the government is telling grass-roots organizations to set down and shut up –  we will not tolerate your voice during elections.
