Somewhere far, far to the south where it is just happens to be summer, a group of global warming scientists are trapped in the Antarctic ice.
If you missed the irony of that situation, it is because much of the mainstream media has glossed over that rather inconvenient bit of hilarity
The expedition is being led by Chris Turney, “climate scientist”, who has “set up a carbon refining company called Carbonscape which has developed technology to fix carbon from the atmosphere and make a host of green bi-products, helping reduce greenhouse gas levels.” The purpose of the expedition is – “to discover and communicate the environmental changes taking place in the south.”
It seems they found out what those environmental changes taking place in the south were. ICE!
I guess someone forget to mention to those “climate scientists” that the Antarctic sea ice has been growing since satellites first began measuring the ice 33 years ago.
Meteorologist Anthony Watts said in 2012 that new data showed that the ice mass was accumulating on the Antartic continent as well as in the oceans surrounding Antartica, in direct contradiction to assertions by global warming alarmists that the expanding Antarctic sea ice was coming at the expense of a decine in Antarctic continental ice. The new data also add context to sensationalist media stories about declining ice in small portions of Antarctica, such as portions of West Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula.
The drive-by media frequently publish stories focusing on ice loss in these two areas, yet the media stories rarely if ever mention that ice is accumulating over the larger area of East Antarctica and that the continent as a whole is gaining snow and ice mass.
These climate change crazies confuse and distort any genuine concern of the environment by twisting facts into lies and half-truths to push their destructive assault upon our economic freedom.
Update: And the fun has only started. Sticking to the global warming ice narrative continues to become more difficult now that the Chinese ice breaker Xue Long (Snow Dragon), had to use its helicopter to free the hapless global warming expedition, to an Australian ice breaker after being unable to penetrate the 10 foot thick ice. The climate scientiests may be on their way home but now both the Russian and Chinese ships face uncertain prospects as the ice continues to grow around them. Both ships report that they have adequate food and diesel aboard, but at some point they will have to be evacuated or resupplied if conditions fail to improve.
