Obama and his band of lefties have been attempting to whitewash Islam for years and as Islam becomes more violent, their propaganda grows ever more desperate. They are now joined in their quest by none other than Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who told the United Nations that he is absolutely “astonished” that these murderous terrorists [ISIS] are “calling themselves Islamic.” That was after he blamed the West for terrorism and demanded an apology.
The left is more protective of Islam than it has ever been of Christianity, something that should give one pause. They are more than willing to berate Christianity for its supposedly reactionary, Islamaphobic, racists, teaching while holding Islam up as a shining example of a peaceful religion.
A prime example of the left’s dementia concerning Islam was exposed by the mere announcement that Somali born women’s rights activist and critic of Islam, Ayaan Hirsi Ali would lecture on “Islam and the West” at Yale’s William F. Buckley, Jr. Program.
The Muslim Students Association enlisted the aid of the other politically correct, racist, bigoted, leftist band of brothers at Yale, i.e. Yale Women’s Center, the Slifka Center (Yale’s hub for Jewish life), The Black Student Alliance, and Yale Students for Israel, along with Yale’s female chaplain Sharon Kugler to denounce Hirsi’s history of “hate speech” and provocative statements, hoping to have her disqualified from speaking for not having the proper credentials.
What might an appropriate credential be, if Hirsi Ali’s doesn’t qualify. Does one need to have been educated in a madrassa to speak with authority about political Islam? Or is it merely that one must treat all Islamic institutions with uncritical reverence to be qualified to speak at Yale?
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one of the world’s most tireless advocates against the physical abuse of women and the practice of female genital mutilation, a practice of which she was subjected to at age five by her family, a practice totally dismissed by the Women’s Center and other leftist groups as an ”unfortunate circumstance.”
And that hate speech? Well, you decide for yourselves.
“There are Muslims who are passive, who don’t all follow the rules of Islam, but there’s really only one Islam, defined as submission to the will of god. There’s nothing moderate about it.”

We froze the moral outlook of billions of people into the mind-set of the Arab desert in the seventh century. We were not just servants of Allah, we were slaves.”
“Wishful thinking about the peaceful tolerance of Islam cannot interpret away this reality: hands are still cut off, women still stoned and enslaved, just as the Prophet Muhammad decided centuries ago.”
“What matters is abuse, and how it is anchored in a religion that denies women their rights as humans. What matters is that atrocities against women and children are carried out in Europe. What matters is that governments and societies must stop hiding behind a hollow pretense of tolerance so that they can recognize and deal with the problem.”
Only the left would find this speech hateful. Had it been aimed at Christianity they would find it “refreshing,” “brave,” a much needed debate.
After years of failed propaganda about Islam as a religion of peace, why doesn’t the left try a novel approach – tell the truth. Why not just take jihadist at their word? They hate Israel, they hate the evil United States and they want to kill us all.
As Hirsi Ali says, “Reality is not easy, but all this make-believe doesn’t make it easier.”
