The Problem With Elections

002The whole problem with elections, at least according to the ruling elite is not the lies, half-truths, distortions, quotes taken out of context, or character assassinations.  It’s also not the fact that there’s no such thing as fair, unbiased, and honest political reporting by the lap-dog media, or that illegal aliens, felons and dead people can and have voted, or that voters have simply lost faith in our government and both major political parties.  Nope, it’s none of that.

And, it’s also not the fact that our elected representatives pass legislation without reading it, sell their votes to lobbyist, reward their families and donors with government jobs and/or taxpayer money, or that they exempt themselves from the laws they impose on us, or feel that lying is their sole responsibility once elected to office.   Nope, that’s not it!

The actual problem with elections, according to leftist democrats is the amount of dark money that is being spent on political ads by corporations, or donated by millionaires to special interest groups aimed at influencing the elections, unless of course, those millionaires are democrats and those special interest groups are unions and then it’s OKAY!

Given the dishonesty and lack of moral principles many of our elected and some of the wannabe elected leaders exhibit, it’s not that difficult to make a case that protecting the integrity of government may be something of a lost cause, as is the case for our two major political parties.

So, as the days trickle down to the November election, we are  faced with the prospects of holding our noses as we head to the polls to elect those we know to stink [leftist Democrats] or one who may end up stinking just as bad (Trump).   But staying home is not and never has been the answer.  Nor is voting for a third party.   Look what happened in 2012!

It is a privilege to vote, a privilege that some have died to protect.  Along with that privilege comes the responsibility to educate yourself on the issues, vote for the kind of country you want to leave for your children and grandchildren.  This election is, in a very real sense, about Obama and his leftist destructive vision for America.  It’s about Harry Reid, McConnell, Ryan, McCain, Nancy Pelosi, and other globalist/socialist who have enabled him for the last seven plus years.  And, there is no reason to believe that anything will change if Hillary Clinton wins since she has been behind his destructive policies for years and has threatened to double down on those policies should she win.

Seventy to eighty percent of Americans believe the country deserves better. They believe we are headed in the wrong direction. The only way to change the course is to vote. If  we don’t, the country will continue its downward spiral. It will become in reality Obama’s vision of America, a reflection of his distorted principles and values, an unexceptional nation hopelessly divided and void of national pride, personal responsibility, and ethical leadership.

Voting is the first step to turn America around. And voting for a candidate who loves America, who believes in our Constitutional form of government, who is willing to stand up to the left is a must.

“God save us from self-professed conservatives and Christians who will announce they’ll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power. This is not a demonstration of principle, it’s quitting and not wanting to call it quitting. I don’t understand the ‘I’ve never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I’m not willing to do anything about it’ mentality.” Jim Geraghty, National Review
