No Way To Treat Our Veterans

Many applaud the fact that Robert Rosebrock, a 75-year-old military veteran was acquitted for hanging two napkin-sized American flags on a fence near the entrance of a Veterans Affairs facility in West Los Angeles. Well, I for one am not applauding his acquittal.

In fact, I’m beyond outraged that he was acquitted. I can find absolutely no rhyme or legitimate reason for his acquittal. If I now have your attention, I’ll explain to you why I’m angry that he was acquitted.

I’m furious with his acquittal because he should never have been charged. Robert Rosebrock gave his life and emotional well being to serve his country. And the thanks he received for his sacrifice was to be arrested and charged with placing two napkin-sized American flags on a fence of the Veteran Affairs facility? Are you freaking kidding me? How the sam-heck am I supposed to be pleased by what they did to a man who served his country and faced death in doing so?

Am I supposed to be pleased that this man, who should be treated with respect, admiration, and gratitude for serving his country, was treated with such abhorrent hatred and disrespect by yellow, gutless, paycheck grabbing, commie bas**rds masquerading as military, when in fact all they are doing is stealing taxpayer money to abuse our Veterans? I think not.

Robert Rosebrock was railroaded in a power play by a vengeful cabal of contumelious neo-Leninists in an act tantamount to Shakespeare’s Lady Macbeth. In fact, the Veterans Affairs could have starred as Lady Macbeth. Macbeth himself is often mistakenly viewed as the villain in the Shakespearian play, but the truth is that Lady Macbeth was the true evil. It was she who manipulated Macbeth through Erebusic subterfuge into killing King Duncan, whose murder served her demonic self-interest.

The singular purpose of Veterans Affairs is to work to meet the interests and well being of our veterans. It is not to steal money from them by having anti-military trash who could not care less about the best interests of veterans, occupy positions of oversight.

What was done to Robert Rosebrock was a transpicuous act of revenge in an attempt to put a man they viewed as less than human, in his place, and in so doing send a threatening message to other veterans who might follow his example.

As reported by City News Service (April 18. 2017): Robert Rosebrock was cited on Memorial Day 2016 for allegedly displaying two napkin-sized American flags on a fence adjacent to the “Great Lawn Gate” entrance to the Veterans Park. He and fellow veterans have been assembling at the site nearly every Sunday and Memorial Day for the past nine years to protest what they believe is the VA’s failure to make full use of the expansive property for the benefit and care of veterans, particularly homeless veterans.

At the conclusion of a bench trial, U.S. Magistrate Judge Steve Kim found Rosebrock not guilty of the violation, which carries a maximum six-month prison sentence. The judge concluded that no evidence was presented showing Rosebrock lacked permission to post the flags or that Rosebrock had displayed them in the first place.

This decision isn’t worthy of applause. It is worthy of the harshest rebuke. The fact that Robert Rosebrock was treated with such disrespect is a disgrace and abrogation of everything America promised her veterans. Veterans who served in combat can never truly be repaid for their service, and to treat them as this so-called Veterans Affairs facility treated Robert Rosebrock is unconscionable.

I submit every management person in that Veterans Affairs office should be discharged from duty and barred from ever working in any military capacity again. They should be scorned and publicly ridiculed.

I’m not applauding the fact that Robert Rosebrock was acquitted; I am strenuously condemning the fact that it was necessary for one of our Veterans to be forced to defend his actions of posting the flag his brothers and sisters died for on the fence of an agency funded to care for the needs of Robert Rosebrock and all veterans.

This is a demonstrable example of the depth of disrespect our Veterans are met with by the very agencies that the American taxpayers fund to provide for Veterans. A fact that I am reminded of every time I drive the I-4 from my home in Orlando, Florida to downtown Orlando and look at the number of beddings underneath the bridge structures.
