In today’s world, the theory of evolution, environmentalism, atheism, social justice, and whatever man-made religion you can think of, has become the modern-day god of the educated and the uneducated.
Science has become an enemy of Christianity by those who seek to discredit the Bible and destroy the Christian faith. And yet, most of the famous scientists whose equations and constants we use in physics and chemistry were devout Christians, and sought to know God through his works. The idea of consistent ‘natural laws’ was first derived from the Bible rather than from nature and nature was studied with the expectation of finding natural laws.
Researchers at Cornell University published a study in 2014 detailing research findings in which they state that clay was the key ingredient in “helping life spontaneously” arise from non-life millions of years ago. The report suggests that, “over billions of years,” clay could have “confined and protected” certain chemical processes, much like cell membranes do today. Then, the protected chemicals “could have carried out the complex reactions that formed proteins, DNA and eventually all the machinery that makes a living cell work.” And, to further their hypothesis, the scientists stated that geological history shows the first appearance of clay was at the same time biomolecules began to form into cell-like structures.
For evolutionists, life’s origin is a difficult topic especially when you consider that despite countless attempts, abiogenesis has never been replicated; nor has it been observed in nature.
Some scientists such as Dr. Kevin Anderson, Ph.D., a microbiologist with many years of real research experience, says that, in his opinion, the Cornell report doesn’t realistically portray any type of “leap from non-life to life.” Their research vaguely “suggests” that abiogenesis is possible and proven, without any citing tangible evidence. “This type of ‘hand wave’ is common with most evolutionists. They act like everything has been figured out, set in cement so to speak, thus, with a ‘hand wave’ [evolutionists] can pretend there are just a few minor points to address, and rationalize that there is no need to answer creationists’ challenges.”
Dr. Anderson further stated that this “immense speculation, and lack of any significant evidence or mechanisms for abiogenesis strongly support the creationists’ claims that abiogenesis is really nothing more than ‘wishful thinking’ on the part of the materialists, when In fact, the more the problem is studied, the more difficulties arise. Adding to the problem,” he said, is that the “more we understand about cells and living systems the greater the gulf becomes between life and non-life. Thus, the final conclusion is that there is not a shred of evidence that life can form spontaneously under any conditions.”
Unlike Anderson, I think the researchers are on the right track, but for the wrong reason. While theirs is an attempt to once again prove that life began spontaneously thus disproving the existence of God and creation, their little study may, in the long run, actually prove the Biblical creation.
Gen 2:7 [KJV] states that “the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.” The Hebrew word translated dust, aphar, also means clay, earth or mud.
