Fake Humanitarianism

In January of this year The New York Times wrote that “the price of Trump’s migrant deterrence strategy [is] new chaos on the border.” Echoing the left’s talking points, a representative from the far-left group  American Immigration Lawyers Association even blamed the President for causing “a crisis at the border” in the Washington Post.

But whatever you think of Trump’s border wall, the President isn’t to blame for encouraging waves of Central Americans to risk life and limb to enter the United States illegally—the Left is.

A handful of influential advocacy groups led by wealthy lawyers, who advance an agenda with millions of dollars and strategic litigation, form the backbone of the legal Left’s attack on American sovereignty and the rule of law.

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), founded in 1946, is directed by approximately 100 associates who also serve as members of the pro-communist National Lawyers Guild.  Jeanne Butterfield, executive director during 9/11 denounced all security measures taken by the government claiming they “infringed on the civil liberties of immigrants and created a climate of fear and distrust around the country.”  Butterfield was previously the executive director of the Palestine Solidarity Committee, a Marxist organization that served as the political arm of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Their current agenda still remains an open border, and amnesty to illegals in this country.  The AILA receives funding from George Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society, the Ford Foundation, Unbound Philanthropy and the Tides Foundation (also supported by George Soros.

The American Immigration Council (AIC), the lobbying arm of AILA, frequently cites the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in its legal work, filing motions against the U.S. government.   It should not come as a shock that the AIC is also funded by left-wing heavyweights such as George Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society, the Ford Foundation, Unbound Philanthropy, and the Tides Foundation.

Both AILA,  AIC, along with the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLIN), and the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), operate the  CARA Family Detention Project, founded in 2014 to provide pro bono legal services for illegals and those seeking asylum, particularly families.  Sounds like such a noble cause but don’t be fooled!

The Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLIN) is a left-wing advocacy organization founded in 1988 by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops who just happens to be funded by George Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society, the Ford Foundation, Unbound Philanthropy, the Public Welfare Foundation and Labor Union Unite Here.

The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) provides pro bono services in Texas to illegals.  They are also funded by George Soros’s Foundation, the Ford Foundation, Unbound Philanthropy, and the Public Welfare Foundation a.

Another group, Al Otro Lado (To the Other Side) is a small Los Angeles based advocacy group that has been pressuring the federal government to grant asylum hearings to members of last year’s caravan.  The group provides healthcare along the border and working with the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), provide pro bono legal services to illegals and asylum seekers.   Several years ago they filed a class action lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security and US Customs alleging “abusive immigration practices, LGBTQI persecution and sexual and gender-based violence against asylum seekers, represented in this action by the American Immigration Council, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the Center for Constitutional Rights, known for providing legal assistance to terrorists in Guantanamo Bay detention camp.

Their cofounder Nora Phillips previously worked as a staff attorney for the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN), an obscure litigation nonprofit that lobbies for expansion of the DREAM Act and the creation of a path to citizenship for illegals.  CARECEN is also funded by Soros’s Open Society Foundation, the California Endowment, and UNIDOS US, formerly the National Council of La Raza (the race).

The National Lawyers Guild, founded in 1937, was inspired by FDR’s New Deal, the Communist Party USA, and the trade union movement to use the law to advance social justice through redistribution, to support progressive social movements, and to transform society.  Arthur Kinoy, member and cofounder of the Center for Constitutional Rights, once argued that the proper role of the radical lawyer was to facilitate the coming anti-capitalist revolution by weakening the law’s ability to function effectively against law-breaking radicals. The 1960s’ Guild president Paul Harris quoted Lenin in arguing that a successful revolution required a “legal struggle” supported by illegal, militant, revolutionary activity. And Doris Brin Walker, a “proud” Communist Party member who served as NLG president from 1970-1971, eagerly anticipated a “Second American Revolution.”

These left-wing organizations have an agenda and it has nothing to do with humanitarianism.  As attorneys they are aware that the majority of immigrants parked on our southern border do not qualify for refugee status which, as defined by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, may be granted only “to people who have been persecuted or fear they will be persecuted on account of race, religion, nationality, and/or membership in a particular social group or political opinion.”

These people from South America are being used as a left-wing ploy to destroy American sovereignty.  The caravans were not a spontaneous gathering of people looking for a better life – they were told they could get asylum and some were even told there was a job’s program waiting for them in America.

While no single group has claimed control of the migrant caravans, at least two activists from Pueblo Sin Fronteras (People Without Borders) were embedded with the group according to the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and the Mexican newspaper La Jornada. This group has a relationship with the Centro Sin Fronteras (Center Without Borders) which is alleged to be behind the caravans. It was founded in Chicago in 1987 by Emma Lozano, a pastor at Lincoln United Methodist Church, a hotspot for left-wing activists. The Center Without Borders appears to coordinate much of the caravans’ activity through Pueblo Sin Fronteras which is affiliated with La Familia Latina Unida (the United Latin Family.)

The left doesn’t believe in America – they want to tear down western civilization to usher in globalism, socialism, communism, or whatever you want to call it.  They want a world where the elite rule and to do that they must destroy Western culture.

Culture matters, and so do the American ideals of liberty and individualism.

“A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.”   Ronald Reagan
