Funding Our Own Downfall

“Power is okay, and stupidity is usually harmless. Power and stupidity together are dangerous.”   Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

Just how stupid do you have to be to monetarily support the people that are trying to destroy you?

Under the pretense of protecting places of worship and faith-based nonprofits, Congress stands poised to spend millions of our hard earned money to provide pro-jihadist Islamist groups, groups with documented ties to overseas terrorist’s organizations, with their own private armed militias.

Last year, Senator Rob Portman, Republican from Ohio and cosponsor Senator Gary Peters, Democrat from Michigan  submitted the “Protecting Faith-Based and Nonprofit Organizations from Terrorism Act” to provide $75 million a year from 2020 through 2024 to certain nonprofit organizations to enhance security measures aimed at guarding against terrorist attacks.  This bill was merged into the House version, HR 2476 submitted by Bennie Thompson, Democrat from Mississippi, and signed into law by Trump on January 24, 2020.

Basically, the law is so broadly written that it leaves open the possibility that these funds could be given to the very organizations that target the U.S.  In addition to Jewish and Christian organizations,  the Muslim Brotherhood linked Islamist groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Muslim American Society, the Islamic Society of North America, will be eligible.  Another network of Muslim nonprofits including the Islamic Circle of North America and the Muslim Students Association would also benefit despite being tied to Jamaat-e-Islami, a violent South Asian Islamist movement.  It could also empower Islamic vigilante groups like New York’s Muslim Patrol.

Of course this isn’t the first time nor will it be the last time that our tax money has been handed over to terrorist linked organizations.

In October of 2019, the Muslim Brotherhood linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) received $100,000 in federal grant money.  CAIR was listed as an unindicted coconspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, one of the largest ever terror funding case in American History.  Guess not every bureaucrat got the message that the government officially ended all partnerships with CAIR in 2009 because of their connection to Hamas.

The majority of the Democrat hoard of presidential candidates, along with more than 120members of Congress  issued letters of support for CAIR’s 25th anniversary last year.  In addition, Virginia’s governor Ralph Northam, Democrat State Representatives Dave Loebsack, Don Beyer, Gerald Connolly, Don McEachin, Abigail Splanberger, Jennifer Wexton, along with Virginia Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine joined in with congratulations.  You can view the letters in pdf format at “Letters of Support for Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) from Congressional Lawmakers Obtained by Investigative Project on Terrorism.”

In addition to CAIR, our illustrious leaders gave $57,000 to the Muslim American Society (MAS), which federal prosecutors claimed in 2008 was founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.  Just last year, children from an MAS school were recorded reciting poetry about the killing of Jews.

Dar al-Hijah, an extremist mosque in Virginia got $100,000, even though a Customs and Border Protection document stated that DAH was “operating as a front for Hamas operatives in the U.S.”, and that they “had been linked to numerous to individuals linked to terrorism financing.”   During 2001-2002 al Qaeda leader Anwar Al-Awlaki was imam at DAH.  His sermons were attended by two of the 9/11 hijackers and Nidal Hassan who murdered 13 American soldiers in a jihadi attack at Fort Hood in 2009.  And even though the mosque’s radical ties have drawn law enforcement attention for years, in  2010 the U.S. Census Bureau signed a $582,000 lease with the mosque.

In 2016, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) gave Islamic Relief Worldwide, which has been repeatedly linked to financing terrorism, $100,000 for “foreign” projects despite their ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.  The group also receives funds from the Charitable Society for Social Welfare, an organization founded by Al-Qaeda terrorist Abdul Majeedd Al-Zindani.

The Nation of Islam and its leaders have received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the U.S. government since 2008 to teach religious study programs for federal prison inmates, according to records reviewed by the Washington Examiner.  Led by Louis Farrakhan who teaches that whites are “blue-eyed devils” and Jews are “the synagogue of Satan,” the Black Nationalist group has received at least $365,000 in contacts and awards from the Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Justice between 2008 and 2019. According to the Foreign Relations Committee, by 2010 as many as three dozen prisoners who converted to Islam had traveled to Yemen for Al Qaeda training.

Between 2017 and 2018, the amount of taxpayers’ money given to organizations either influenced or controlled by Islamist activists more than tripled from $4 million to $13.5 million. No wonder Islam thinks they are going to take over the U.S. – we’re paying them to do it.
