Me-Too Republicans

With the election fast approaching it is time to look at the enemies of freedom and trust me; those enemies are not always the far left.

The Lincoln Project Super Pac  is an American political action committee formed in late 2019 by several prominent RINOs  with a goal of defeating Donald Trump.  According to their web site, the PAC was formed to “hold accountable” those who would violate their oaths to the Constitution and put others before Americans, even if it means “Democrat control of the Senate and expansion of the Democratic majority in the House.”  Let that sink in! And just to prove they don’t give a rats arse about the U.S., in April they endorsed Joe Biden.

As Americans, they claim they must stem the damage that Trump and his followers are doing to the rule of law, the Constitution and the American character because the survival of our nation is a higher calling than mere politics.   Really! Like anyone would accuse them of being political!

Founders of this PAC who claim kinship with the Republican Party or who claim to have left the Party because they “couldn’t accept the lawlessness of the Trump administration,” are George T. Conway, III, husband of Kellyanne Conway a Trump advisor, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver and Rick Wilson.

Schmidt, who left the Party in 2018, worked on the political campaigns of G.W. Bush, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and John McCain.  Not only was he critical of Trump for moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, in 2019 it was reported that he and Democratic consultant Bill Burton had been hired to help shape a potential presidential run by former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz.

Weaver, whose party affiliation has always been questionable, worked on John McCain’s  presidential campaigns of 2000 and 2008.  In between, he worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee before becoming the chief strategist for the presidential campaign of Republican John Kasich.

Wilson a former Republican political strategist, and media consultant is a big time fan of Qatar, a supporter of terrorist organizations that include Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.  During the 2016 United States presidential election, he was very vocal in denouncing not only Trump but anyone who supported him.

The group’s “advisors” and Board Members are a Rogues’ Gallery of “Never Trumper” Republican consultants who have thrown their lot in with far-left Democrats since the election of President Trump in November 2016.

Recently released Financial statements from the PAC show that this organization is not as much about swaying the political landscape as it is about lining their own pockets. A significant amount of the money they have taken in through donations has managed to find its way back into the pockets of the founders, advisors and board members.   There is no support for conservatives in Congress, no work being done on behalf of new candidates to challenge those they deem unworthy of Conservative labeling.

The Project PAC raised $16.8 million from April to June of this year with 45% of its funding coming from small donors, the vast majority of which contribute exclusively to Democrats per FEC records.

The largest donor, supplying $1 million, was billionaire hedge fund manager Stephen Mandel Jr., founder of Lone Pine Capital and supporter of Obama for America and the Hillary Action Fund.  Josuha Bekenstein from Bain Capital chipped in $100,000. He and his wife Anita have given roughly $6.4 million mostly to Democratic causes during the 2020 cycle that included donations to Joe Biden, Priorities USA and Unite the Country.

David Geffen, DreamWorks founder, a million dollar donor to Democrat super PACS in 2018, also chipped in $100,000 as did billionaire cable TV pioneer Amos Hostetter, another major Democrat donor.  Retail developer Joseph Kaempfer added $75,000 to the pot after giving $500,000 to pro-Biden super PAC American Bridge 21st Century.  Other supporters include Silicon Valley investors Michael Moritz and Chris Sacca and Martha Karsh, wife of billionaire Bruce Karsh and Walmart heiress Christy Walton.

Jeb Bush backer David Seldin, whose political contributions have shifted entirely to Democrats in the Trump era, gave $75,000. Michigan oil executive Sidney Jansma also donated $100,000.

The PAC isn’t just targeting Trump. FEC filings show that the Lincoln Project has paid to run ads opposing his allies, including senators Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Joni Ernst of Iowa while running ads in support of Joe Biden.

“An outfit that pretends to be the true arbiters of conservatism subsists mostly on fawning coverage in the left-wing media, does work strictly in opposition to those on the right, has come out to endorse Joe Biden, and collects the vast majority of its funding from Democrat sympathizers.  You have to admire that level of grifting. Getting rich off of doing hack work to line your pockets with the largesse of liberal hysterics…I am completely jealous for not coming up with such a blatant scam.”  Brad Slager, RedState
