Just when you have a glimmer of hope that the United Nations had given up on demanding vast sums of money and repressive bureaucratic control to combat global Armageddon that exist only in the virtual world of computer models, they have to prove you wrong.
They have now officially expanded their mission to include the species extinction scare. According to the latest hysterical fairytale, mankind will kill off over 1 million species of plants and animals, putting the planet at a greater risk than at any time in human history. But it is never too late to fix the problem, according to the UN’s first comprehensive report on biodiversity.
Those money grubbing so-called scientists that managed to swindle the world out of billions on the global warming scare, convened in Paris to push the next scam, a mind boggling 1,000 page report, The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). And, of course, the major cause of all this prospective devastation is global warming caused by – you got it – mankind.
We’ve allowed the world to continue burning fossil fuels that have made the planet, depending on the audience, either too hot, too cold, too wet, or too dry, destroying the habitat of half of the world’s land mammals and nearly a quarter of the birds habitats.
Species loss is “accelerating” at a rate tens of hundreds of times faster than in the past – more than half a million on land are likely to go extinct within decades unless we give the U.N. all our money, our sovereignty, our first born, give up eating meat, install cowalytic converters on cows, live in mud huts and graze. This is, after all, absolutely our last chance to save Earth unlike all the other absolutely last chances.
In its coverage of the UN species extinction report, CNN dredged up serial alarmist Paul Ehrlich, who wrote The Population Bomb in 1968. Ehrlich, who has been predicting the end of the world over and over again for more than half a century, is on one of the longest losing streaks of failed predictions known to science. But thank God there are real scientists in this world.
UK Professor Philip Stott at the University of London writes that the earth has gone though many periods of major extinctions, some much bigger. Change is necessary to keep up with change in nature itself. In other words, change is the essence. “The idea that we can keep all species that now exist would be anti-evolutionary, anti-nature and anti the very nature of the earth in which we live.”
Greenpeace cofounder Dr. Patrick Moore says actually mankind has done a pretty good job of preventing species extinction, even going so far as to mock Harvard biologist Edward Wilson who estimated that up to 50,000 species go extinct every year based on computer models. “There’s no scientific basis for saying that 50,000 species are going extinct. The only place you can find them is in Edward Wilson’s computer at Harvard. They’re actually electrons on a hard drive…”
Dr. Moore warns that just “as with the manufactured ‘climate crisis,’ they are using the specter of mass extinction as a fear tactic to scare the public into compliance. The IPBES itself is an existential threat to sensible policy on biodiversity conservation.”
After the UN’s 2007 report of mass extinction, Ragnar Kinzelbach, a zoologist at the University of Rostock, informed us that essential data is missing for most other life forms, making it virtually impossible to forecast the potential effects of climate change. Given the myriad other human encroachments in the natural environment, Kinzelbach says, “crocodile tears over an animal kingdom threatened by climate change are less than convincing.” He further explained that “Monocultures, over-fertilization and soil destruction wipe out more species than a temperature rise of a few degrees Celsius.”
Even the UN had to admit that they doubt their own computer simulations. “Very low extinction rates despite considerable climate variability during past hundreds of thousands of years have led to concern that forecasts for very high extinction rates due entirely to climate change may be overestimated.”
Scientists have discovered at least five different mass extinctions, referred to as the Big 5, over history when anywhere between 50% and 75% of life were lost, the last of which I believe was around 65 million years ago when global temperature was 6 to 14°C warmer and sea levels, which covered up to 40% of the continents, were over 300 meters higher than now.
For decades, climate alarmists have warned that without a UN run global climate regime to control human activity, alleged man-made climate change will bring the wrath of Mother Earth down upon us. In fact, stretching back decades, virtually every alarmist prediction that was testable has been proven embarrassingly wrong. This new scare will prove no different.
