Religious Freedom Doesn’t Include Murder

 “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  And because of iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”  Matthew 24:11-12

You couldn’t get much more “false” than a group that deceptively calls themselves a religious organization while pushing for the murder of innocent unborn babies.  “Thank God for abortion providers” may be the group’s rallying cry but their message isn’t just liberal Judaism or Christianity – it is true-blue leftism.

Originally founded in 1967 as the Clergy Consultation Service, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC) provided referrals for abortions long before Roe v. Wade, with startup money from a now defunct Playboy Foundation associated with Playboy Enterprises.  Another $13.1 million was provided by the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, a far-left group affiliated with the family of liberal billionaire Warren Buffett.  Other notable funders include your typical left-wing Foundations like the Ford  Foundation, George Soros’ OSI, the Tides Foundation, the Moriah Fund, Proteus Fund and the Hewlett Foundation.  

RCRC is composed of a coalition of far-left Catholics, Protestants and Jewish groups and organizations that includes the Anti-Defamation League.  Current members include the Central Conference of American Rabbis, the Disciples for Choice, the Episcopal Church and Episcopal Women’s Caucus, the Lutheran Women’s Caucus, the Methodist Federation for Social Action, the Presbyterian Mission Agency, the Unitarian Universalist, the United Church of Christ, to name but a few.  

You’ve probably seen Coalition members in the news blessing abortion centers and doctors who regularly murder unborn children.  They also work behind the scenes lobbying  against bans on taxpayer funded  abortions; legislation that would grant personhood to unborn babies;  bans on abortion after 20 weeks and the confirmation of Conservative Justices to the U.S. Supreme Court, in addition to a host of other left wing policies that include gun bans, LGBTO issues, amnesty, environmentalism and economic justice.

Their “Theologies Program” promotes the involvement of left-wing religious scholars and theologians in promoting abortion.  They provide “compassionate care training” for judgment free emotional and spiritual support for congregations to become more effective advocates for the murder of innocent children.

The Coalition has gone so far as to promote conspiracy theories aimed at Conservatives and pro-life groups.  They regularly tweet extreme statements criticizing traditional religious groups for what it terms “Christian Nationalism,” accusing them of trying to turn the country into a Christian “theocracy.”

They criticize southern states, aka the Bible Belt, as “incubators for conservative political strategies which spread across the country.”  Religious faith narratives in the South, according to the group, “oppress marginalized people such as women, people of color and the gay community.”  RCRC has developed a program under their Southern Project to engage Black pastors to support greater access to abortions for the black community.  According to the 1984 book Persuasion and Social Movements,  RCRC has attacked pro-life advocates as “terrorists cut from the same cloth as KKK night riders who used terror to stop African-American citizens from exercising their right to vote.”  Under the same Project, the group worked to defeat Georgia’s Religious Freedom bill in 2016. 

RCRC Vote is another project of the Coalition used to push an all-inclusive sex education  agenda in public schools K-12, as a “moral responsibility,”  while encouraging openly gay and lesbian involvement in religious life.   

Harry Knox, a professional political activist, is president and CEO.  He previously worked as the founding director for the religion and faith program of the Human Rights Campaign, a far-left gay marriage advocacy group and as a program director for the gay marriage campaign Freedom to Marry. He also served in 2009 in the Obama administration on the White House Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.   Knox, who holds a Master’s of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary, is a frequent contributor to the left wing rag Huffington Post.  In 2015 he penned an article Thank God for Abortion Providers in which he identified those that murder unborn babies as “martyrs.”

In March of this year, abortion advocate Willie Parker resigned as Board Vice Chairman over accusations of raping Candice Russell, an abortion activist with the National Network of Abortion Funds and a board member for NARAL Pro-Choice Texas.   Parker is chairman of the board of Physicians for Reproductive Health, a recipient of Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger award and previously worked as medical director of Planned Parenthood Metropolitan Washington, D.C. 

Previous president, Carlton Veazey, was an ordained minister in the National  Baptist Convention, USA and pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church.  In 1993, he was removed from his position as pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. by a vote of the congregation for “faking a coronary” and “consorting” with women not his wife. 

Needless to say the rest of RCRC’s personnel and Board are cut from the same cloth.

But God is entirely absent from the Religious Coalition’s infanticidal message.
