It has been said that children are our future, but what future you ask?
The U.S. continues to undertake a slow, steady march towards the left, and there’s one major reason why – public schools. Too many Americans trust that their children will be properly educated. But what they fail to realize is that the teachers and administrators in most of these schools are leftists. Is it any wonder that our children grow up hating everything their parents stand for? And it is only going to get worse.
The Biden administration has decided that it will prioritize federal education spending on schools that dispense with traditional education and focus on teaching critical race theory. Gone are the three R’s of reading, writing, and arithmetic, to be replaced with race, racism, and reparations.
From their earliest days, students are taught by the modern state curriculum standards to be cogs in the societal wheel rather than independent thinkers. Most children no longer read the classics which include a wealth of resources or spend time enrolled in civics or history courses. And even if they are taught what passes for history today, they are often bombarded with left-wing historical revisionism that turns our founding fathers into racist moral monsters.
Gone are the days that educators focused on the basics. Politicians, education officials, and teachers are constantly injecting as much propaganda as is humanly possible into classroom instruction. Instead of learning to think for themselves, our children have become parrots of the leftist agenda and future subservient slaves to the ruling elite. Today, nearly everything that children do in public schools is watched, monitored, recorded and tracked. Independent thought and free expression are greatly discouraged and sometimes punished.
It is a known fact that force-feeding children a government produced public education is a sure-fire way to dumb them down. The average fourth grader doesn’t have the most basic proficiency in common school subjects and high school graduates can’t even read.
Ironically, despite the United States having the best-surveyed education system on the globe, U.S students consistently score lower in math and science than students from many other countries. According to a Business Insider report in 2018, the U.S. ranked 38th in math scores and 24th in science.
The National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) reports that children in countries as diverse as Canada, China, Estonia, Germany, Finland, Netherland, New Zealand and Singapore consistently outrank their US counterparts on the basics of education.
Government education is monopoly education with no incentive to change. Teachers’ unions spend millions to maintain the status quo, blocking change and meaningful innovation while lining the pockets of left-wing politicians. Teachers have become nothing more than government indoctrinators for the feel-good anything goes darkness that now rules our nation.
Instead of extending government’s control, we need to get them out of our schools. The only role that government should have in our education system is to set laws that protect parents’ rights to work with their local school systems to establish school curriculum.
Thank God that at some point indoctrination will collapse on itself but unfortunately it will leave mediocrity in its wake.
Radicals understand that if they control all means of communication during the formative years, they can dominate their opinions for the rest of their life. All the more reason, we must engage in a Long Game plan to take back our schools, campuses, communications and culture in the New Year. We must persist for freedom. Scott Walker
