The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO, under the direction of a known Communist operative) is the primary force behind the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programs that have found their way into our schools in all 50 states.
The National Conference of State Legislatures (a nonprofit funded by left-wing donors and foundations) claims SEL programs will develop skills, attitudes and behaviors that helps children be a success in life. The Committee for Children (a global nonprofit who developed the SEL program) boasts that children will thrive, schools will win, workplaces will benefit and society will be strengthened.
And yet, a 2019 Pioneer Institute study, warns that all the claims are thin. The SEL program actually calls for schools to focus less on academic content, something that we’ve seen with other left-wing educational programs, and more on mindsets, values and behaviors. According to the study, “it’s one thing to direct a child’s moral, ethical and emotional development” but, “having a government vendor or unqualified public-school official do it based on coffee-table psychology is quite another.”
UNESCO’s endgame for the SEL program is not to meet the social and emotional needs of each child, but to shape all children to meet the needs of a global society by instilling in them the need to accept the UN’s sustainable development goals. Interventions, according to UNESCO, are necessary to influence young people’s “beliefs, attitudes, values, and feelings” so they will more readily think like global citizens and cooperate with the goals the UN has set for the world. In other words, they are being programmed to be servants of the overlords.
For those not yet aware of the UN’s sustainable development scam; it will require monumental sacrifices such as giving up all fossil fuels, family traditions, values, private property, freedoms, and privacy, to name but a few.
UNESCO’s materials make it clear that they are only interested in exploiting and weaponizing our children, turning them into what the UN refers to as “critical agents of change.”
The education system, designed to teach children how to think critically, has been weaponized by the radical left to push a globalist agenda.
