Preying On Children No Longer Just for Predators

It is not a conspiracy theory to say that the education system, public and private, is filled with destructive teachers of hate who aspire to crush inquisitive minds.

At the 2022 Teacher of the Year ceremony hosted by the White House in April, Biden claimed that school children don’t belong to parents “when they’re in the classroom.” According to Melissa Harris-Perry, in an MSNBC ad, “we have to break through this idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families.” Terry McAuliffe, when running for his 2nd term as governor of Virginia told us that “parents have no business passing judgment on what their kids are taught at school.”

The father of America’s public education system, Horace Mann, famously quipped: “Men are cast-iron, but children are wax.“  Mann knew that education was never a “value-neutral” proposition.  It has always been and always will be a process to shape not only a child’s abilities, but most importantly, a child’s worldview based upon the values of the educator.

The left truly believes that it is their job to liberate children from the troglodytic beliefs of their parents.  They want our kids for themselves.  But children are not nor will they ever be property of the state. We must never accept the lie that education begins and ends in the classroom.  Education is a lifelong enterprise beginning at birth and ending with death.

In free societies, schools are not designed to serve as a mandatory means by which the state may seek to shape the young, but instead to act merely as a service to which parents can choose to send their kids for basic education if they so wish.

Today the left-wing parasites are demanding control over the public education system because they know children are vulnerable and thereby susceptible to indoctrination.   Evil will never stop at merely controlling people; they must control their minds.  And, where better to achieve this goal of submissive obedience to the state than in a classroom of malleable young minds?

While indoctrination involves pushing a certain narrative, it is much more.  It is the comprehensive effort of passively disseminating a particular viewpoint and this passive aspect is the key.  People who are indoctrinated with a certain narrative or ideology do not arrive at the intended conclusions through their own thinking but from hearing the same narrative repeated in a million different ways until they finally take it as unquestionable truth.  In other words, indoctrination happens in the absence of thinking for oneself.

In such a system, thinking is only the articulation of opinion; it has no bearing on truth. You don’t need to think critically or understand why you believe what you believe. You just need to have the right viewpoint.  This inability to think is what makes our children vulnerable to mass media and prevents any true resistance to an encroaching state or lawless ideologue in power.

Today’s children are being institutionally indoctrinated to be unreflective, uncritical automatons of the liberal cause from immigration, climate change, and abortion, to whatever the progressive cause du jour demands.  Preying on children is not just for predators anymore.

As parents we must no longer cede our responsibilities to the state.  While Hillary’s “it takes a village” has a nice familial ring to it, do we want the state to be that village?

At some point, indoctrination will collapse on itself.  Unfortunately it will leave mediocrity in its wake.
