The “Fairness” (Envy) Doctrine

tax2Will fairness, a very derisive idea exploited by spoiled children,  now  become the official mantra of the Democratic campaign, replacing the phony “War on Women” and the “Racial Divide”?

The Fairness part?  Steal from the rich .  Yep, that’s their idea of fairness.   Will the rest of the country benefit of this fairness?  Nope.  What little money they get will end up being wasted on Obama’s green agenda, or sent overseas to support the Muslim countries that are trying to kill us, or handed over to the United Nations to be used to further undermine America’s sovereignty.

Progressives want you to believe that  you are “poor” because someone else is rich!   The majority of the wealthy didn’t become  wealthy by stealing from others – it was through hard work, smart investments, and innovation.  It is the wealthy that invest in our economy, who create new businesses, thereby creating jobs and new revenue for the government.

Becoming “rich” was once known as “The American Dream”  – an idea that any one in America could become wealthy through hard work.   V.P. Joe Biden,  who once bragged that he became a Senator because he didn’t want to “work”,  is an except to the rule.  Bragging that you made a career on the backs of U.S. taxpayers isn’t something to boast, at least not for normal people.  The majority of Americans work hard to give their children a better life and take pride in their accomplishments even if they don’t make the top “1%.”

The wealthy didn’t create the debt – the government did.  Our elected politicians spent taxpayer money to enrich themselves and benefit their friends,  to support some far left political agenda, or to further increase their power, or a combination of all three.

According to the Tax Foundation, the wealthy not only pay a higher tax rate than the rest of us but pay most of the taxes.   The top 1% pay nearly 40% of the revenue the government collects.

You want fairness?  Fairness would be  everyone paying the same tax rate, from the lowest wage earner to the highest  Nearly one-half of the U.S. population pays no income tax, while  53% of Americans pay all the income taxes.

Life is not fair, never has been and never will be.  Bad things happen to the good, the bad, the wise, the foolish, the just and the unjust, to the educated and uneducated in equal portions.  Justice and fairness is lacking in the natural world and it is the height of foolishness to expect anything else.   Wisdom lies in being able to mitigate through life by being prepared and making good decisions,  not by demanding that government legislate fairness.

Obama and his ilk are attempting to exploit man’s nature to  envy what they don’t have.  Envy, one of the 7 deadly sins,  comes from ignorance and  a lack of belief in your own talents.  Bertrand Russel once said that envy was one of the most potent causes of unhappiness.  “Not only is the envious person unhappy by his envy, but they also wish to inflict misfortune on others.”

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”    Winston Churchill
