“Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide.” Abraham Lincoln
In a 2014 interview on WND, Clare Lopez, a former CIA operative who now manages the Center for Security Policy, revealed that she believes Obama has the same goals for the U.S. as did Osama bin Laden. She described a leadership that no longer recognizes the threat posed by the jihadist agenda to the U.S. homeland and his refusal to accept that jihadist are motivated by ideology, not political grievances. “I am convinced that this administration intends Iran to become the nuclear power hegemon of the entire Persian Gulf region, and that includes especially the oil-rich areas of Saudi Arabia as well as southern Iraq .”
She also believes that when Obama said we were witnessing “a transition from an old order to a new order” in the Mideast, along with “the terrible violence that occurs as a result,” he was indicating that he believed the bloodshed was akin to birth pains, to a new Islamic state. “The plan of this administration is to pull out of the Middle East, allow it to revert to Islamic control, as in the caliphates of old, or imamates, in the case of the Shiites. And to allow Islam to resurge, which is exactly what’s happening.”
Lopez also believes that the forces and domineering global ambitions of the Islamic jihadis are now “deeply embedded inside our own national security infrastructure.” While noting that this “infiltration” has taken place over multiple administrations, she concluded that this put the U.S. in much the same position with respect to the jihadis that we were in with respect to the forces and ambitions of international communism “when the communists infiltrated our government. It’s not a partisan thing. It’s institutional now.”
The Obama Iranian “deal,” or as mainstream Americans see it, the “sell-out,” makes Lopez a soothsayer. Let’s face it, there is no other way to reconcile Obama’s acceptance of Iran as a threshold nuclear state with a safe fate for Israel or for that matter, Saudi Arabia,Egypt and the United States.
Obama is a committed ideologue, who has long preferred the company of hard-line leftists, full of admiration for Mao Zedong and other paragons of life-destroying communist atrocity. Obama himself supped with and strongly supported Kenya’s Raila Odinga, whose partisans went on a rampage of atrocity in Kenya in order to force Odinga’s savage ambitions on those who opposed him.
With the knowledge of Obama’s background combined with his consistently destructive, anti-American pattern of his actions, what combination of self-willed blindness and/or moral cowardice explains the unwillingness of some to see Obama for what he is?
There is no excuse but there may be an explanation, one that takes account of the de facto collusion, across party lines, that is pushing the U.S. past the point of no return toward irreversible military weakness, institutional dissolution, and demoralizing moral confusion and disintegration. Obama’s anti-Americanism is just the most visible manifestation of the reversal of the commitment to liberty and decent self-government made by the prevalent leaders of America’s founding generation.
The elitist faction that presently controls the leadership of both parties rejects the founders acknowledgment of God, of God-endowed rights, and human equality in respect of right. These American elitists embrace an effectively God-denying, materialistic understand of the world that has more in common with the ideologies of the enemies against whom Americans fought and so many gave their lives in the 20th Century, than the God-fearing principles that have freed Americans in every generation from the mind-shackles of elitist tyranny.
Though more veiled and cold-blooded in their ways, the American elitist mindset has more in common with the despotic, violent fanaticism of the Islamic jihadis than with the reasonable piety and self-disciplined common sense that give rise to and sustained America’s constitution of liberty.
“Duty to country extends far beyond active engagement in our armed forces. Duty should be in the hearts and minds of every American who believes in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Without duty, there is no freedom. Without freedom, there is no hope. Without hope, all else is lost. Together, we have the strength to sustain the freedoms we hold dearly.” Gregory E. Sapp
