Enemies of Religious Liberty

Until recently, United States Law reflected a respect for religious liberty, but that is changing fast. While Obama may have been the least friendly to religious concerns in our history, the situation did not improve when he left office because the crazy leftist loonies didn’t leave with him.

Christians can expect continued pressure to not only accept but joyfully approve of the murder of innocent defenseless babies and of homosexual rights even though  those found “rights” trample on the rights of Christians. Let’s face it, we’re living in a society of bigots who despise human rights, dignity and religious freedom, who demand tolerance, but offer none.

The Arcus Foundation and the Ford Foundation have spent well over $3 million combined in grants to oppose basic conscience protections.  The Arcus Foundation, founded by Jon Stryker, an heir to the fortune of the Stryker Corporation, has  committed strategic funding to combat what they see as the “abuse of religion to deny protection to the gay community.”   Arcus is an active supporter of Murder, Inc, same-sex marriage and extending special rights to homosexuals.

Kevin Jennings, whom you may remember as Obama’s Safe-Sex Czar,  now head of Arcus, is a committed homosexual, former assistant deputy of the U.S. Department of Education, and founder of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network [GLSEN] which has advanced LGBT activism in thousands of U.S. secondary schools, formed gay/straight alliance clubs and sponsored workshops to teach the “pleasures of homosexual sex.   Arcus under Jennings  is also a partner of the U.S. Department’s Global Equality Fund, having pledged $1 million to support Obama’s forced acceptance of homosexual rights worldwide.

Throughout the United States, people of conscience increasingly find themselves at risk of being fined or taken to court for refusing to be silent or to accommodate legal gray areas — such as bakers and photographers who based on religious principles decline to accommodate or participate in weddings of same-sex couples — created by these rulings.  As a result, freedom of speech or religion has come to be considered an act of discrimination if the outcome offends someone in any way. Without the protection of the law enacted by the democratic process, we see autocrats who try to eliminate any speech or act they deem offensive.

Today, you are free to be a Christian as long as you don’t actually live out your faith, vote your faith, take a stand in relation to your faith, or believe others should embrace your faith.  In other words, it can be privately engaging, but must remain socially irrelevant.

Christians are not second class citizens.  We must take a stand against outrageous restrictions on the free exercise of our faith.  Whether you believe it or not, we are at war and its not necessarily a war against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers and against the rulers of darkness in this world. God will hold us responsible for how we respond to the onslaught.

God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever; That a revolution of the wheel of fortune, a change of situation, is among possible events; that it may become probable by Supernatural influence! The Almighty has no attribute which can take side with us in that event.”  Thomas Jefferson
