Keeping Faith

Is keeping faith the ultimate test?

We are saved by faith, kept by faithwe walk by faith, endure by faith, rejoice by faith, serve by faith, love by faith, sacrifice by faith, pray by faith, worship by faith, and we obey by faith.

Faith, according to Hebrews 11:1 is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.  While this may not be the definition of faith, it is a great description.

Faith is what compels us, drives us, and assures us; it gives us conviction and confidence.  Everybody has faith and believes in something, somebody, some religion, or some god.

Where is your faith? Who do you believe in?  When you take a hard look at the world around you, you need to be able to answer those questions.

Paul warned us in Ephesians 6:12 that we wrestle against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness, and spiritual hosts of wickedness.  In other words, we wrestle against things not of this world, but of the spiritual realm.  How are you going to stand against what you cannot see?

Christ made the promise to give us the power and authority over Satan and his evil spirits.  When there is a conflict between the power of the enemy and the power of God with Christ, Satan’s power will lose every time.

We are in a war, and we cannot ignore our enemy.  Man must take back his rightful place with God.  We must become a faithful people again.  In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul warned that we must “watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave and be strong.” (I Cor 16:13) We can only do these things if we’re standing in the faith of God. It is only through God’s love that we have victory over principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness and spiritual hosts of wickedness.

When you keep the faith, only then can you stand when the world tries to beat you down.  When you keep the faith, you know that you can do all things through Christ.  When you keep the faith, you know that you have gained everlasting life because you believe on the only begotten Son of God.
