To American Christians

Dear Christians,

What in the H E double hockey sticks is the matter with you people!?

Do you think being involved in public policy and elections and all that earthy stuff is somehow antithetical to the spirit walk?  I’m glad Jesus cared enough about earthy stuff to come here and save our sorry tails.  Didn’t he say something about taking care of the weak and defenseless and being salt and light in the world?

People get so heavenly minded that they’re no earthly good, as the old saying goes.   What is it, folks?  Are you too busy stuffing your faces and watching television? Maybe video games have you so hypnotized you can’t leave the house?  Porn addiction?

Do you really think your spiritual duty is fulfilled by going to church once a week and dropping a fiver in the plate?

Most people in this world don’t have enough to eat.  They live under tyrannical regimes.  They suffer tremendous violence, disease, and injury.  Most people would give their right arm to live free, enjoy prosperity, and be removed from harm for the most part. Most people in the world would give the world to live here, and they would consider it a great privilege to vote in order to preserve the blessings of liberty!

Most of us, however, take it all for granted; and too many of us sit around on our big fat blessed assurance and do nothing.  Too many of us can’t even be bothered to simply register, study up on the candidates, and vote!

Do you realize that 17 million evangelicals failed to vote in 2008?!  A similar situation was repeated in 2012!  Slothful, disengaged evangelicals put Barack Obama in the White House!  He is destroying our country and enslaving our children and grandchildren.  He is destroying the Constitution, and with it, liberty.

Barack Obama was elected twice because too many Christians ignored their sacred citizenship duties.  “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  There is no such thing as separating Christian and citizenship responsibilities.  How can you be salt and light when you remain sequestered and silent?

We murder 3,300 babies in the womb every day in this country.  That’s one every 25 seconds.  Since 1973, we have slaughtered more than 56 million babies in the womb; and 99% of the time, the only reason for it was that those babies were ruled inconvenient–unwanted because they interfered with somebody’s career, mere sacrifices on the altar of lust and personal preference.

Until we start taking our founding principles seriously, let’s stop calling ourselves Americans.  When we can sit by and watch millions of babies being dismembered with barely a twinge of conscience, it’s a lie to say we believe the Declaration when it states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” If an unborn baby, completely innocent, has no right to life, neither does anyone else.

The Scripture you claim to believe clearly condemns this mass murder; yet some of you actually voted for Obama, the most radical pro-abortion public figure ever to disgrace the landscape.  Many more of you couldn’t even muster the guts to register and vote against this monster. Yet, you’ll sit at home and talk about how blessed Jesus loves the little children, and isn’t it horrible how other people treat their kids.

Until we actually demonstrate our Love for Christ by believing His word and by obeying His commands, let’s stop calling ourselves Christians because we’re hypocrites.  If we don’t even have the courage to vote, how on earth will we demonstrate the conviction to speak up, much less die for our faith?  No wonder the world takes a dim view of the church and its people. No wonder the church no longer has any moral authority.  Our sloth and cowardice is a reproach.  Refusing to take a stand for righteousness is unchristian and unpatriotic, and failing to vote is a disgraceful dereliction of duty to God and man.
