Cruz Tells It Like It Is

rinoLast week, Senator Ted Cruz tore apart the Republican leadership, criticizing them for their continual surrender to Barack Obama. Finally, someone not afraid to tells it like it is.

According to Cruz, there  is a reason why Americans are fed up with Washington and that frustration is volcanic. No matter how many elections the voters give Republicans, nothing changes. But when you have Democrats that believe in the principle of big government, in a relentless assault on the constitution and are willing to “crawl over broken glass” to fight for those principles and a Republican leadership not committed to principle, a leadership that reflexively surrenders to Obama at every turn, the outcome is foreordained.

“You want to understand the volcanic frustration with Washington? It’s that the Republican leadership in both houses will not fight for a single priority that we promised the voters we would fight for when we were campaigning less than a year ago.”

The first time the Republican leadership kowtowed to Obama’s threat to shut down the government if he didn’t get his way, he knew the game was over. So, when he demanded funding of ObamaCare , knowing ,but not caring, that a great number of Americans were already hurting because of job losses, that Americans could not keep their doctor and premiums for younger Americans would skyrocket, Republicans couldn’t even manage a sweat while they waved the flag of surrender. When Obama demanded that Republicans fund his unconstitutional executive amnesty or else, or threaten to shut down the government and blame it on them if they did not assure passage of the Iranian disaster deal, or fund a private organization with taxpayer money, knowing full well how the majority of Americans feel about Murder, Inc., the white flag was once again hoisted.

The Republican leadership took the lead in confirming Loretta Lynch as the new attorney general, even though a Republican majority could have defeated that nomination. When Lynch was asked how she would be different from Eric Holder who ran the most lawless and partisan Justice Department we’ve ever seen, she responded “No way whatsoever.” When asked to point to a single instance in which she’d be willing to stand up to Obama to stop his lawlessness, to stop his abuse of power, she couldn’t manage to identify a single instance where she would do her job.   She looked us in the eye and said, “Hey, I’m going to do exactly what my predecessor has done, ” and Republicans confirmed her anyway. Is it really any wonder why the American people are frustrated out of their minds?

There has been a lot of speculation in the media about why John Boehner announced his resignation. “I’m going to tell you why he resigned. It’s actually a direct manifestation of this disconnect between the voters back home and the Republican leadership.”

With both Boehner and McConnell swearing that there would not be a government shutdown they declared their intention of once again funding all of Obama’s priorities in the latest Continuing Resolution (CR), knowing full well that they were doing enormous damage to America. Cruz says he personally believes that “Boehner cut a deal with Nancy Pelosi to assure that this dirty CR will pass the House, just as it did the Senate under McConnell. He’s done this more than once but this time, there were too many Republicans tired of seeing Boehner lead the Democrats instead of Republicans. “I believe that if Boehner had done that, had passed a dirty CR, he would have lost his speakership.”

Faced with losing the speakership by funding all of Obama’s priorities, he announced his resignation effective the end of October giving himself plenty of time to slither up to Nancy Pelosi and help the Democrats fund Obama’s agenda  through a dirty CR without worrying about the embarrassment of being “kicked out of office” as speaker.  None of this is surprising but it does telegraph the deal he cut with Pelosi, a deal to once again surrender the House to Democrats.

“The simple truth is that a very large percentage of the Republican donors despise the conservative base, the people who showed up and voted us into office.”  When you visit a Republican donor we are told that we must come out for gay marriage, throw full support behind the murder of innocent babies, and support open boarders and illegals mooching off American taxpayers. The people writing the checks to elect Republicans to office don’t agree with Republican principles, or at least the principles that the Party once stood for – they agree with the left. They look down their nose at “conservative voters as a bunch of ignorant hicks and rubes.”

“Just yesterday the speaker of the house went on national television, and directed an obscene epithet at me. He’s welcome to insult whomever he likes. I don’t intend to reciprocate. But when has leadership ever showed that level of venom, that level of animosity to President Obama and the Democrats who are bankrupting this country, who are destroying the Constitution, who are endangering the future of our children and grandchildren, who are retreating from leadership in the world and have created an environment that has led to the rise of radical Islamic terrorism? “   Read Ted Cruz’s speech in full at this link.

As John Whitehead wrote in an article at the Rutherford Institute, It really doesn’t matter what you call them Republicans, Democrats, the 1%, the elite, the controllers, the masterminds, the shadow government, the police state, the surveillance state, the military industrial complex – so long as you understand that while they are dealing the cards, the deck will always be stacked in their favor.  Politics is a game, a joke, a hustle, a con, a distraction, a spectacle, a sport, or in other words, it’s a sophisticated ruse aimed at keeping us divided and fighting over a two-party system whose priorities are exactly the same.

The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls. They got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying. Lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I’ll tell you what they don’t want. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests.

They want obedient workers.  Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork…..It’s a big club and you ain’t in it.  You and I are not in the big club….The table is tilted folks.  The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice….Nobody seems to care.  That’s what the owners count on….It’s called the American Dream, ’cause you have to be asleep to believe it.”  George Carlin
