Revenge

The left’s thirst for revenge knows no bounds.

Those who accused President Trump of sowing hatred against his enemies are going out of their way to prove their hypocrisy.

We’re not just talking about Facebook blocking posts.  Facebook is also handing over user data to the FBI so they can start prosecuting people deemed “complicit” in the January 6 protest in D.C.   Any Facebook user who even just discussed the events that took place at the Capitol could end up being paid a visit by the FBI.

But blocking tweets, shutting down Conservative websites, threating Trump supporters, turning D.C. into a military encampment,  and handing social media data to the FBI hardly scratches the surface.

Congressman Bradley Schneider of IL recently introduced HR350, the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021, which will expand surveillance and police powers of the national security state in the name of combatting dangerous extremist.   Cosponsors include RINOs Brian Fitzpatrick of PA, Don Bacon of Nebraska, and Fred Upton of Michigan.  And naturally Senator Dick Durbin of IL rushed to submit corresponding legislation in the Senate.

According to Brian Fitzpatrick “homegrown domestic terrorism from white supremacists” is a serious ongoing threat.”  Don Bacon went so far as to compare the mostly peaceful protest in DC to international terrorism and Islamic extremism.

Congressman Schneider, the bill’s sponsor, says that in the “wake of the domestic terrorist attack in D.C., there is a persistent threat posed by white nationalism” which must not be allowed to go unchecked.  “White supremacy and domestic terrorist organizations have no place in America.  Rhetoric from Trump and right-wing political leaders has emboldened white nationalist groups to pursue violence as a means to an end.”   Geez, what about all those statements  made by Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, John Brennan and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez egging left-wing violence against Trump supporters?

Not to be left out of the press, David Pekoske, the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security timed his National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin perfectly  to correspond with Schneider’s bill, almost like it was prearranged.  “Information ‘suggests,’ according to Pekoske, “that some ideologically motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as perceived grievances ‘fueled by false narratives,’ could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence.”   I can only imagine where that “information” emanated from.

Schneider’s bill is nearly identical to the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2020, which was endorsed by a broad coalition of left-wing organizations like the Anti-Defamation League, Arab American Institute, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism, Human Rights Campaign, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Muslim Advocates, NAACP, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., Sikh Coalition, Southern Poverty Law Center Action Fund,  etc.

The bill is so dangerous that former  Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, a left-wing Democrat in her own right, warned against it during a Fox News interview.   “We don’t have to guess about where this goes or where it ends,” Gabbard argues.

“When you have people like former CIA Director John Brennan openly talking about how he’s spoken with appointees and nominees in the Biden administration who are already starting to look across our country for these types of movements… that in his words make up this ‘unholy alliance’ of religious extremists, racists, bigots, even  libertarians.”

“This legislation would lead to a very dangerous undermining of our civil liberties… and a targeting of almost half the country,” Gabbard concluded.

History is littered with examples of initiatives sold as being necessary to fight extremism that quickly devolve into tools used for the mass violation of the human and civil rights of the American people.

Rest comfortably America – the FBI, the Justice Department and Homeland Security are going to eliminate those dangerous white Christians, Conservatives, and Patriot groups  so you no longer have to cower in your homes at night waiting for the next terrorist attack.
