The Radical Transformation of Education

For over a decade, Dr. James Pesta, associate professor of English at the University of Wisconsin, polled students about their attitudes to Western Institutions, history, culture and values.

In one survey for instance, Pesta asked his students to define capitalism and socialism.  The majority used words like greedy, selfish and unfair for capitalism and defined socialism by using words like fairness and equality.  None of the students could explain Marxism, Socialism or Capitalism in a sentence. 

According to Dr. Pesta, before the new millennium students were historically ignorant, but not politicized.  Today, he wrote, they have “a moral superiority in not knowing anything…” 

Schooling used to be about equipping pupils to succeed in life.  These days, with very few exceptions, it is about politicizing them so that as many as possible are indoctrinated into the radical progressive left ideology, thus blighting their adult lives with discontent and grievances, mostly as result of being conditioned to view all life’s setbacks as a form of “oppression.”

Children are taught to have contempt for our country and the founders, to prefer Socialism, Marxism or Communism to capitalism, to divide people by race and ethnicity, to stifle those with different opinions, to put their feelings over common sense, and to believe they can be any sex they choose, all of which is a guaranteed route to their destruction.

They know little, if anything, about the founding fathers or our founding documents nor do they care.  They know nothing about the fraught history of Marxist, or Socialism or Communist ideology over the last century and they don’t want to know because they already know everything – just ask the delicate little darlings.

In an interview with Tyler O’Neil at PJ Media, Dr. Pesta explained that the multicultural liberal mindset “is throughout all the schools, from kindergarten all the way to graduate school,” due to the monolithic control of education by liberal progressive shifting the curriculum,” replacing good history books with textbooks like a People’s History of the United States, which is no more than a cartoon anti-history of the United States written by anti-American Marxist Howard Zinn. 

Zinn once remarked:  “Objectivity is impossible, and it is also undesirable. That is, if it were possible, it would be undesirable, because if you have any kind of social aim, if you think history should serve society in some way; should serve the progress of the human race; should serve justice in some way, then it requires that you make your selection on the basis of what you think will advance causes of humanity.”  

A nation that destroys its systems of education, degrades its public information, guts its public libraries and turns its airwaves into vehicles for cheap, mindless amusement becomes deaf, dumb and blind. It prizes test scores above critical thinking and literacy. It churns out stunted human products, lacking the capacity and vocabulary to challenge the assumptions and structures of the corporate state. It transforms a democratic state into a feudal system of corporate masters and serfs.

The capacity to think is the only bulwark against any centralized authority that seeks to impose mindless obedience. Unconscious civilizations become totalitarian wastelands.

The young adults who today gleefully tear down statues of the Founding Fathers were incubated in our very own schools, groomed to burst from the education system and burn America down. Douglas Blaire
