Lenny Bernstein at Washington Post reports that the scientists at the National Academy of Sciences, funded by the CIA, NASA, and NOAA are studying solar ration management as a means to cool the planet. “With the planet warming inexorably and the threat of long-term climate change looming, some experts are wondering whether the time may one day come when humans want to deliberately attempt solar radiation management.”
My first thought is how did the CIA, NASA and the NOAA earn all that money to fund another United Nation’s redistribution project when we had to close the White House to public viewing and cut raises for our military?
Then the editorial board chimed in their nickel in a second article claiming that global warming probably factored into the magnitude of the 2012 heat wave, maybe figuring into about 35 percent of last year’s heat. “High temperatures, such as those experienced in the U.S. in 2012, are now likely to occur four times as frequently due to human-induced climate change,” NOAA notes, citing findings from a different paper in its report on the same event. Another phenomenon last year, very low Arctic sea ice, “cannot be explained by natural variability alone.”
The Daily Mail recently reported that a chilly Arctic summer has left nearly a million more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 60 per cent. Days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores. Some eminent scientists now believe the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century – a process that would expose computer forecasts of imminent catastrophic warming as dangerously misleading.
Meteorologist Anthony Watts explains, that this new data shows ice mass accumulating on the Antarctic continent as well as in the ocean surrounding Antarctica, which contradicts an assertion by global warming alarmists that the expanding Antarctic sea ice is coming at the expense of a decline in Antarctic continental ice. This new data also adds context to sensationalist media stories about declining ice in small portions of Antarctica, such as portions of West Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula.
While the lap-dog media continually publish stories focusing on ice loss in these two areas, to prove their sky-is- falling hysteria, their stories rarely, if ever, mention that ice is accumulating over the larger area of East Antarctica and that the continent as a whole is gaining snow and ice mass.
I found it extremely interesting that millions of years ago, according to a new NASA study, long before Al Gore invented the internet or man set foot on the earth, ancient Antarctica was much warmer and wetter than previously suspected, with a climate suitable to support vegetation, including stunted trees, along the edges of the frozen continent.
According to data released in October 2012, from the beginning of 1997 through August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures, leaving Professor Judith Curry, head of the climate science department at Georgia Tech University, to say that it was “clear that the computer models used to predict future warming were deeply flawed.” . The ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.
Russian scientist Dr Habibullo Abdussamatov, of the St Petersburg Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory, believes Earth is on an “unavoidable advance towards a deep temperature drop.” The last big freeze was between 1650 and 1850, with the decrease in temperature observed in Europe, North America and Greenland. “All channels in the Netherlands were frozen, glaciers were on the advance in Greenland and people were forced to leave their settlements, inhabited for several centuries. The Thames river in London and Seine in Paris were frozen over every year. Humanity has always been prospering during the warm periods and suffering during the cold ones. The climate has never been and will never be stable.”
The only saving grace during the last mini ice age was that Al Gore, Obama, and the United Nations weren’t around to make money off of it.
