Steven Rattner, a top Democrat strategist and donor, who served as Obama’s lead auto-industry adviser, has gone on record conceding that rationing of health services under ObamaCare is “inevitable” and “we need death panels.”
Rattner is on the board of the New America Foundation (NAF) along with Jonathan Soros, the son of George Soros, which makes their statement of being “nonpartisan” even more laughable.
Founded in 1999, NAF claims to represent the values of the “radical center,” a designation founders Ted Halstead and Michael Lind defined in their book bearing the same name. Lind describes this “radical center” as an “economic program” representing “an implicit repudiation of the center-right neoliberalism” symbolized by Bill Clinton, Robert Rubin and Larry Summers.
Ted Halstead who founded the progressive think tank Redefining Progress has written extensively for the Washington Post and the New York Times.
NAF’s current president Steve Coll, is a former managing editor of the Washington Post and is a contributor for the New Yorker magazine.
The Global Governance Initiative is a project of NAF. The director, Parag Khanna, contends that global governance is inevitable and America has already embarked on an unalterable course toward this destination. He praises the efforts of “postmodern” elites such as Bill Gates, George Soros and Richard Branson who “take it upon themselves” to “cure pandemics, run corporate cities, undermine authoritarian regimes and sponsor “climate-saving research.”
In addition to George Soros, NAF is funded by Ben & Jerry’s Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation, CIGNA, Tides Foundation, the Ford Foundation, The Foundation to Promote Open Society, Free Press, Bill Gates Foundation, Google, the Hewlett Foundation, H&R Block, Intel Corp., Microsoft, Pew Charitable Trusts, the Ploughshares Fund, Save the Children, the Rockefeller Foundation, ad nauseam.
NAF approved of ObamaCare because it would “offer a new image” of how Americans view dying; and it would help “patients and their families to recognize that sometimes doing everything results in more burden than benefit.”
Which brings us back to Death Panels and Steven Rattner. Just last month Rattner wrote an opinion piece in the NY Times “Beyond Obamacare” in which he said “We need death panels” and argued that rationing must be instituted to sustain ObamaCare. According to Rattner, the big problem with Medicare is. . .reducing cost of treatment for people in their last year of life. “Many countries whose health care systems are regularly extolled [by the left], including Canada, Australia and New Zealand, have systems for rationing care.” The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence in Britain “uses a complex quality adjusted life year system to put a value (up to $48,000 per year) on a treatment’s ability to extend life.”
“But in the pantheon of toxic issues – the famous third rail of American politics – none stands taller than overtly acknowledging that the elderly are not entitled to every conceivable medical procedure or pharmaceutical.”
Once again the “elite” are showing their true colors. I can’t help but wonder if they realize once instituted, this policy could include them. There is no honor among thieves or Socialists.
Rattner brings to mind a time when most of the world’s elite held to the belief that in the struggle for survival, some humans were less worthy to live. It was the Eugenics movement in America that applauded Hilter’s brutal racial campaign to eliminate society of the Jews, the feeble-minded, the poorest elements of society, alcoholics, criminals, epileptics, the insane, those genetically predisposed to specific diseases, physically handicapped, the unproductive, and unborn babies of all races except those of Aryan stock.
From 1904 until shortly after WWII, the elites in the U.S. worked toward a scientific goal of a master race calling for selective breeding by those fit to exist, and sterilization, marriage prohibition and even euthanasia for the “unfit.”
Eugenics in America was a well funded industry thanks in part to the Rockefeller Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the Kelloggs, etc. Major Leonard Darwin, the son of Charles Darwin was the Eugenics Society President from 1911 through 1928 and an honorary president from 1928 – 1943. His niece, Ruth Darwin was on the 1932 Brock Committee which decided that sterilization was the right course of action for undesirables. The Brock Committee was the forerunner of ObamaCare “death panels.”
The Eugenics Movement is alive and well today, only it operates through the U.N.’s Population Control agenda and Obama’s abortion for every female and sterilization and castration for the rest.
ObamaCare is the anniliation of our basic right to life. God created us – He should decide how long we live – not Obama.
